This unit explores how literature engages with moments of crisis , social and political ecological and how authors respond to such moments through narrative form and language.

Students will examine work from different historical periods and genres that grapple with crisis and imagine renewal , resistance and transformation.

Learning Outcomes:y

By the end of the unit the learner should be able to:

1.Analayse literary texts that respond to crisis with nuanced understanding and  of historical and cultural context.

2.Engage with contemporary theories relevant to crisis and transformation.

3.conduct independent research and apply theoretical framework to literary analysis.

4.develop present sustainable coherent in oral and written forms.

5. Reflect in literatures role in shaping and relying to societal change.

The course explores use of drama, story telling performance as tools to enhance learning across the subjects. Students learn how to design, facilitate and evaluate drama based subjects.
